This is the 3rd year where we will be doing the 20 mile cruise to Mt. Angel to enjoy there Volksfest , a celebration of beer and sausage. if you are with NW Dubs the entry fee will be $20 which includes 15 tokens for beverages ( last year it was 7 tokens for a beer or wine).
We will meet at the Baldock rest area southbound bound just out of Wilsonville at 9:30 and leave by 10:30 to arrive at Mt. Angel around 11:00/11:15. from there Juli Madil or I will bring us in to the back where we have our own parking and entrance. I will update this post as much as possible.

Wetwesties campout at the Quarry Pond

Description
This is the annual Wetwesties campout at the Quarry Pond camp site at Deception Pass State Park on Whidbey Island. The State Park is about an hour South of the Peace Arch border crossing, so really easy if you are coming from that direction. And about an hour forty minutes North of Seattle if you are coming from that direction. Anyone with an interest in VW camper vans is welcome (you don’t have to own one to come).
Reservable sites are 302 - 331 and often fill up. First come first serve sites are 332 - 360 and they often fill up when the weather is good. The official State Park policy is not to allow doubling up so it is good to reserve. Remember to select a site in the QUARRY POND loop on the East side of Highway 20. Jet noise from the navy base can occur but has not been an issue in the last few years.
The Pot Luck is Saturday. The food line starts at 5 PM (sunset is 5:30) so you will want to set up before then. Bring a dish of your choosing and chairs. There is a shelter. You may want to bring a folding table. Campfires are OK. Power is available. Wetwesties-Camano Island State Park- Campout

Description
Come and camp with us at one of Washington State's most beautiful campgrounds! We’ve had about 30 vans the past couple of years and hope for more in 2024!
Camano Island State Park (CISP) is a 134-acre camping park with 6,700 feet of rocky shoreline and beach. The park provides sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and offers opportunities for shellfish harvesting.
Bring your binoculars and try to spot the resident grey whale named "Patch". Also eagles in the trees, nice trails and one of the closest campouts to Seattle & the I-5 corridor.
Camano Island is about 40 miles north of Seattle and then 20 miles west of I-5.
CISP requires reservations in advance on this website:

Reservations open 9 months in advance of the desired date, and CISP fills up fast, so reserve ASAP. Set your alarm for 7AM to get a great spot. If you haven’t previously reserved a Washington state park site, you may want to get an account set up in advance, as making reservations can be a bit tricky.

Greenwood Car Show

This year is on track to be the biggest and most attended Greenwood Car Show yet. This coming year the show falls a week later than normal as we alway do the last Saturday.
Last time this happened, it was the biggest show we ever had, hands-down.
Also, this year Greenwood is planning on bringing back the Seafair parade, that hasn’t happened since 2019 
We’re in the works & planning to hold the parade on the same day after the car show.
As the Car Show loads out, the parade participants would load in.
In turn we would also leave room, at the north end of the Car Show footprint for a Extended Car Show until the parade is over.
The parade would be rerouted from his original path to follow Greenwood from 67 to 73rd for staging and then start the parade at 73rd heading north to the stage at 79th and through 80th St
85th 90th would be the extended Greenwood Car Show area.
This is a general plan that is not completely finalized yet.
But it is in the works and subject to change as we’re doing our best to make sure this works for all the businesses in Greenwood and everyone involved so we can all be successful and have a great day and evening.
As always, we need our community’s support!
Being a much larger extended event, only means it will cost much more.

Concessions: Food trucks will be on location.
CAR SHOW INFO:
Car Show Admission is $30 YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER. The cost includes one (1) Vehicle & one (1) person. (pre-registration is open until 9PM the Friday night before the show) Cars that don’t Pre-register cost is $35 and will only be admitted if space available.
Entry for Show Cars at 7:30AM and is open until 9:00AM. Cars arriving after 9AM MAY be admitted, depending on remaining space and pedestrian traffic conditions. PLEASE ARRIVE BEFORE 9AM to guarantee entry!
Cars will not be allowed to exit until 2 or 3PM. This is for the safety of all our visitors and a requirement of our insurance.
Your car must fit into a space that is 9' x 16'. If you are pulling a trailer and your vehicle + trailer exceeds spot, you will need to pay for an additional spot ($25)

The cost to vendors for is $40 payable at the Swap entrance gate - fee includes one admission to the show. Swap spaces are (2 standard parking spaces). If you need additional space, the cost is $40 per extra (2 standard parking spaces).
Vendors are permitted on the property at 6:00AM to start lining up. The swap area will be opened at 6:30 AM for set up. Vendors will not be admitted for setting up after 9:00 AM!
Cars will not be allowed to exit until 2 or 3PM. This is for the safety of all our visitors and a requirement of our insurance.
Feel free to sell anything (as long as its legal - no drugs, alcohol, or firearms please). The NWVVM provides this area for commerce but is in no way connected to any sales interaction. Grievances about a purchase should be directed to the vendor and not the NWVVM.

Wetwesties-Rattlesnake Trailhead- Campout

Description
Northwest Forest Pass required ($30 available from the US Forest service and possibly available at the Goat’s Beard store in Mazama if you forget). No reservations required. This is a primitive camping area with a pit toilet but no water, no power, no picknick tables, not a single luxury. Located about 22 miles West of Winthrop and 10 miles West of Mazama, WA. There are a few dispersed campsites with fire rings. There is normally a fire ban this time of year. I know of no limits on vehicles per site. The last couple miles of road is gravel and there is one short rough spot about a quarter mile from the camping area that has never been a problem for my van, but does require me to slow down to walking speed. Our "official" meetings start at 6:00 as we wrap it up by 8pm (closing time). We have pizza, discuss interesting VW issues, and of course show our cars and their latest improvements. If you're a VW enthusiast in the Seattle area, just show up - it's cool, it's casual, and it's fun! Plus, you don't have to be a member of the club to attend, and Children are welcome (with family).
